Job Summary 

Consistently models the advanced qualities of a servant leader and exhibits the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset. Trains and coaches Agile teams and Stakeholders to embrace Agile Scrum Core Values, adopt and apply Agile Scrum Principles, and implement Agile Scrum practices. Effectively removes impediments and actively communicates with leadership and outside stakeholders to protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work while improving performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity. 

Essential Job Functions 

Responsible for the operational management of mid to large size projects and ensures that the overall project objectives are clearly defined and met

Understands and is able to apply different delivery approaches (waterfall, Scrum, Hybrid) and performs, independently, project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control a project in accordance with the FNWL Enterprise Operation Strategic Project Execution Methodology

Manages projects in accordance to and complies with related methodologies and policies


Acts as a servant leader for multiple teams and their stakeholders. Aids the team and Product Owner in efforts to manage and sequence the backlog. Leads more complex teams involving work with routine external team impact or dependencies including multiple system integration points. Eliminates impediments and resolve issues and dependencies independently. Assists in building a high-performing team and foster relentless improvement at the Team and Program level while improving team performance in areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity. Identifies Agile Scrum anti-patterns and resolves with limited support and applies Agile Scrum principles to facilitation, enablement, and coaching for multiple teams. Utilizes intermediate to advanced experience using tools to create metrics that measure and report on team performance, backlog health and continuous improvement. Utilizes advanced coaching capabilities to influence teams and advice on practices and procedures, soft-skills and Lean Agile mind-set. Guides teams through the decision making process and teach techniques on how to problem solve, improve communication, self-manage and self-organize. Scrum Master supports a trusting and Agile Scrum environment where problems can be raised. Helps manage interpersonal conflicts, challenges and opportunities for growth within the team. Applies Agile Scrum principles to facilitation, enablement, and coaching in a multi-team environment. Mentors and guides other scrum masters on Agile Scrum principles. Protects the team from uncontrolled expansion of work. Leads problem solving techniques and continuously challenges norms to improve performance in quality, predictability, flow and velocity. Independently participates, facilitates and manages the outputs of all agile ceremonies including Daily Stand Up meetings, Sprint review, sprint retrospective, sprint planning, backlog refinement sessions. Provides advanced mentorship to other scrum masters through Agile ceremonies. Provides back up support to other Scrum Masters. Trains and coaches Agile teams and stakeholders to embrace Agile Scrum Core Values, adopt and apply Agile Scrum Principles, and implement Agile Scrum practices. Demonstrates ongoing thirst for knowledge and a desire for continuous improvement by creating an environment for continuous learning and builds improvement roadmaps for team(s). Pursues continuous education with regards to everything Agile (e.g. visit user groups, attend conferences, read books, write blogs, etc.). Continuously works to ensure standard procedures are in place and ultimately improve the organizations' product delivery capability. Establish best practices and resolve challenging issues, risks, conflicts or impediments. Demonstrate intermediate to advanced experience with Behavior Driven Development and Test Driven Development and support the adoption of engineering practices, DevOps, and Agile Architecture. Performs other duties as assigned.

This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.  

Education Requirements 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Certified Scrum Master and/ or PMP certifications preferred.   

Experience Requirements 

Minimum 3 - 4 year’s experience in Scrum Master role or minimum 1 year as a Scrum Master Level II required. Supervisory and/or managerial experience preferred.
