Application Subject Matter Expert III*

Job Description


Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Application Subject Matter Expert III to provide a high level of expertise in the design and development of functionality of claims business applications using Guidewire Technology, understand the business objectives and how best they can be supported by IT, and be responsible for the conceptual design of business applications and review and validation of the technical design for business applications provided by the supplier. Specific job duties include: Guidewire ClaimCenter and ContactManager Custom Programming of pcf screens, business rules, plugins, message destinations, Gosu classes and data scripts, Java classes, SOAP and REST webservices to support the 100+ integrations with the Claims systems, accelerator customization and implementation; joint unit testing with Guidewire and Middleware components; Autosys job scheduler – batch process creation and monitoring; setup the code repositories using Github and Jenkins Technology and automate all code migrations, deployments and code review/comparisons; build on existing ClaimCenter integrations, service oriented architecture, and web solutions, while leveraging newer and up and coming concepts, architectures, and technologies; responsible for full systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation of various functional architecture solutions; serve as a part of Guidewire ClaimCenter core development group supporting in house projects/change requests; work closely with technical and non-technical teams and demonstrate functional and knowledge to ensure that the work products and deliverables are for the business solution; and mentor and coach teammates. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S.


Position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field of study, plus 4 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Guidewire ClaimCenter Developer, Programmer Analyst Trainee, Programmer Analyst, Associate – Projects, Product Specialist – Technical, or similar position. Specific experience must include each of the following: 4 years in custom software development projects; 4 years with Guidewire ClaimCenter development; and 3 years participating in large Business Configuration efforts and being a member of a project team through all phases of the project lifecycle including scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live. Specific experience must also include each of the following: Guidewire Configuration and Integration training; GOSU, Java, and Oracle/SQL development; and development on Guidewire Claim Center 8 or above. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S.
