Business Systems Analyst III*

Job Description

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Business Systems Analyst III to act as a liaison between IT and Business units at senior level, support users in building business cases, including cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, and project scope, and oversee business requirement gathering and analysis. Specific duties include: overseeing business requirement gathering and analysis; developing functional specifications and preparing preliminary systems design documents; performing impact analyses, supporting the development of effort and cost estimates, and supporting the development of application conceptual design, testing, and implementation activities; understanding customers’ objectives, processes, and products in order to make educated recommendations; performing quality review checks on project deliverables; and supporting Application Subject Matter Experts in creating the conceptual design of systems. Position may require occasional travel within the U.S.


Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Business Analyst, Software Engineering Team Lead, or similar position. Must have 5 years of experience working with business and IT teams to analyze and capture requirements. Specific experience must also include: working with Property and Casualty insurance claims lifecycle; building tools and solutions that help clients and internal teams; working with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle in agile and water fall environments; working with open systems architecture, including integrations with vendor packages, relational databases, message queues, web services, and legacy systems; working with HP ALM; working with SharePoint; relationship building; using verbal and written communication skills to demonstrate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences; participating in meetings and conferences; and composing reports and technical explanations.
